Our Programs

Our mission-driven programs emphasize our work. We go beyond annual events and create ongoing opportunities for education, connection, healing, and access to mental health resources.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Support Services

At Nurture of Alabama, Inc., we believe that mental health is essential to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Through our Support Services, we create meaningful opportunities for people to connect, learn, access resources, and take steps toward healing.

One of our signature initiatives is our annual Community Mental Health Awareness Initiative, which begins with Birmingham Mental Health Day, held each May in partnership with the City of Birmingham. This community-wide event brings together residents, mental health professionals, community organizations, and local partners to increase mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and connect individuals with valuable resources.

Our commitment continues throughout the year. From June through October, we host monthly community education and engagement sessions designed to provide accessible mental health information, encourage meaningful conversations, strengthen resilience, and create spaces where individuals and families can feel supported and empowered.

Nurture also partners with organizations, schools, community groups, and other community stakeholders to provide mental health education, awareness sessions, workshops, and supportive programming tailored to the needs of the communities we serve.

Together, we are creating communities where mental health conversations are welcomed, support is accessible, and healing is possible.

We believe in meeting people where they are. Through partnerships with community organizations, schools, housing programs, courts, and mentoring initiatives, we bring mental health support directly into the communities we serve.

Our collaborative efforts have included partnerships with Alicia’s Coffee, the Birmingham Housing Authority, Jefferson County Family Court, W.J. Christian, and mentoring programs, providing opportunities for group support, mental health education, and Anger Management group therapy.

We are committed to developing innovative, community-centered approaches that empower individuals with the tools, resources, and support they need to navigate life’s challenges.
