Hi! My name is Maya Witherspoon and I’m from Birmingham, Alabama. I received my BSW at the Alabama A&M University in 2019. After graduating, my passion for social work and mental health grew as I became an advocate for domestic violence for two years. Being an advocate for domestic violence, I learned the importance of mental health and self-care. I’m currently pursuing my MSW at Alabama A&M University with my concentration being mental health. With my MSW, I plan on working with women, adolescents, and individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, or any other hardships in life. I enjoy being around family and friends, going shopping, and watching movies.
